Clinical Governance

Day-to-day clinical issues are overseen by our experienced counselling managers who report to the Chief Executive. Overall clinical responsibility rests with the Council of Trustees who delegate to a Clinical Governance Committee constituted of a Trustee, The Chief Executive, The Clinical Lead – see below, and the Counselling Managers. The Clinical Governance Committee ensures that all policies, procedures and practices fulfil the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professionals of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy which accredits our therapeutic services and current Child Protection, Data Protection, Equal Opportunities and Employment legislation.

The Clinical Lead – Sheridan Parsons audits and evaluates the work and reports directly to the Chief Executive. She is available to staff to give advice on specific client work if necessary.

All client-work is evaluated using internationally recognised and research-validated tools: CORES, YPCORE and Core 34 which give clients’ perspectives of the journey travelled during the therapeutic intervention.
