Revd Eddie Carden
Chief Executive officer
Eddie has been CEO since 2008. He is a registered member of BACP and was elected a Governor of BACP in 2015. He qualified as a psychodynamic counsellor 25 years ago, and spent 7 years working in the statutory psychiatric system. Eddie has been a parish priest and has worked for the Church of England in senior roles nationally and locally.
Hilary is a supervisor and BACP accredited counsellor with many years experience and is based in Renew’s counselling centre in Chelmsford.
She is a Barnardo’s approved adoption counsellor and has worked with children and young people for over 15 years and with families and people with adoptive issues for over 8 years.

Nikki is one of our counselling managers, based mainly in Renew’s counselling centre, Bridge, in Basildon. She is also managing our ‘Re-ed’ project in Chelmsford.
Nikki is MBACP accredited, and has been working for Renew since 2004. She is a Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer. She is also an Associate Trainer for ‘B-eat’ – a National Eating Disorders Charity.
Research areas include the effects of labelling and diagnosis on counsellors, clients and their families, also on developing ways of working with clients who express their distress through self-harm, suicidal ideation and/or eating disorders.

Counselling Manager (Schools)
Justine is a BACP accredited counsellor currently in the role of Renew’s Counselling Manager of the Schools service.
Previously she worked as a youth worker for Essex County Council, Essex Young People’s Drug and Alcohol service and Connexions.
She has been employed by Renew since July 2007…she continues to practise as a counsellor in senior schools in the Essex area.
Ani de la Prida
Training and Development Manager
Ani de la Prida is the course leader on our DipHE in Counselling Children and Young People, and our new BA(Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy.
She is a person-centred therapist and arts counsellor who has worked with children & young people in schools, exclusion projects, foster care and private practice.
Ani also has experience of work with adults and groups with drug treatment programmes, Essex probation Service and Essex Police. Special areas of interest and research include person-centred art therapy, looked-after children and digital media in therapy.
She is an author on the Counselling MindEd e-learning programme
(www.minded.org.uk) and is published in The BACP Handbook of Counselling Children and Young People (2014).

Emma manages all functions of the Head Office, including Human Resources for 140 employees and volunteers, Payroll, Finance, Facilities and Legal & Governance.
