What we do

What Renew Counselling offers

We offer a wide range of high-quality, affordable and effective counselling and therapy services.

Counselling for Children:

Helping children to make the right start in life

Renew counsellors are involved in early intervention work with children and young people, offering one-to-one counselling, art and play therapy in numerous schools and at our centres in Basildon and Chelmsford.

Counselling for Young People:

Supporting young people who feel ‘unloved’

The young people who come to us are feeling anxious, depressed, angry, or even suicidal, and we do all we can to help them get their lives on the right track.

Counselling for Adults:

Giving confidence and hope

Through our counselling and long term psychotherapy services, adults from all walks of life can gain a clearer understanding of themselves and their life situations. As a result, they start to make new decisions for satisfying lives.

Counselling for Couples:

Strengthening relationships

This is an opportunity to help couples address issues that might be hindering them from enjoying their relationship. We help one or both partners to resolve issues of communication, roles, responsibilities, conflicts and other concerns.

Counselling Training

Our Diploma HE in Counselling (Children and Adolescents) and Degree are run in association with Anglia Ruskin University. This is a 5/6 year part-time course which provides students with the specific and unique skills and theory to be able to effectively counsel and support children and young people.

Schools Service

School counselling offers emotional support to children and young people. Meeting every week in school, the pupil develops a trusting relationship over a period of time with their counsellor, who supports them to attend to their thoughts and feelings about past experiences and current relationships, so they are not preoccupied with these when in the classroom.

Counselling for Clergy:

Helping clergy and their families

Recognising the fact that ministry can be challenging, Renew offers confidential counselling services to clergy and their families enabling them to share their burdens and grow in effective ministry.

We also provide bespoke training for clergy, youth workers, pastoral care teams and other church-based workers or volunteers who are seeking to engage with people with mental and emotional health issues in their communities.
